Villa Gloria does not simply display art: it allows it to become part of everyday life within the villa.
The Living Gallery grew out of this vision: to transform the residence into a living space where rooms, artworks, furnishings, light, nature and the presence of guests interact with one another every day. It is not a traditional gallery. It is not a museum. Nor is it a villa in Salento where art is used merely as decoration.

When art becomes part of your stay
It is an experience that unfolds in a more intimate and natural way. It requires no ticket, guided route or separate moment within your stay. Instead, it reveals itself gradually: as you return to your room, move through the shared spaces, notice a detail changing with the light or encounter an artwork that seems to engage in dialogue with the silence of the room.
At Villa Gloria, art is never kept at a distance. It inhabits the spaces, accompanies guests throughout their stay and becomes part of the way the villa is experienced.
The artistic project
Every year, Villa Gloria invites six artists to engage in dialogue with the villa’s six rooms. Each artist is entrusted with a space to interpret through artworks, images, materials or artistic interventions capable of engaging with the room’s individual identity. The project was created primarily to showcase local artists and emerging creative voices, while keeping alive the connection between Villa Gloria, Salento and contemporary artistic practice.
Each room thus becomes its own small visual geography. Every stay can become a different encounter.
Art within the experience
At Villa Gloria, artworks do not simply occupy a wall. They enter the space and interact with the natural light, patterned floors, arches, furnishings, the villa’s warm colours and the greenery flowing in from the garden.
Guests do not visit the Living Gallery as they would a traditional exhibition space. They move through it while experiencing the villa: returning to their room, pausing in a shared space or noticing a detail that had previously remained silent.
It is a more intimate, less formal kind of cultural hospitality, one that is closer to everyday life.
Artworks, artists and new perspectives
The artworks displayed throughout Villa Gloria may change over time.
As part of the villa’s cultural project, six contemporary artists are invited each year to reinterpret its six rooms.
This rotation allows the villa to renew its narrative, welcome new perspectives and build, year after year, a living relationship between hospitality, contemporary art and the local area.
Each room becomes a distinct field of exploration: a small visual geography in which the artworks interact with the light, fabrics, furnishings, historic floors and the everyday presence of each guest.
Intimate private views, meetings and presentations dedicated to the artists may also take place throughout the year. These are not events created simply to fill a calendar, but occasions that remain true to the identity of the villa: understated, thoughtfully curated and authentic.
Artworks available to purchase
Almost all the artworks displayed at Villa Gloria are available to purchase. Guests can connect directly with the artist and enquire through the villa about acquiring a particular work.
